Susan Meyer: I chose to study at Bridgewater State University because it is close to my home town, affordable, and perfect for the career I wish to persue. I am majoring in Elelmentary Education. I have not decided what I will do for my second major yet. Over the next five years I plan to learn how to become an educator as well as learn from my peers and expand my experience of working with children through a program called Jumpstart. Jumpstart is a program, run through AmeriCorps, for young children between the ages three to six that assists the students by preparing them for kindergarden. Children coming from low-income families tend to be un-prepared for kindergarden, Jumpstart targets these children to get them to the level they should be at when entering kindergarden.
